Shipping Containers for Self-Storage Facilities in Texas
Outfitting a new facility or adding capacity to an existing one? We supply containers by the unit count — condition-graded, delivered from the Texas yard closest to your site, and quoted as one order by one person. Pick up the phone and let's talk numbers.
Call the yard nearest you
Volume orders don't get sorted out through a web form. Call the yard closest to your site, tell us how many units you need and what condition you're after, and you'll get a real answer from the person who'll see the order through.

Built for buyers who need more than one
Cactus Containers is a Texas-owned container supplier with yards in Decatur, Amarillo and Midland. We have delivered 7,000+ containers, we grade every unit honestly before it is sold, and we handle multi-unit orders for self-storage operators, developers, contractors and property owners as one order with one point of contact — not as a stack of separate retail sales.
Pricing on a volume order is negotiated case by case, so the fastest path to a number is a phone call to the yard nearest your site.
Three Texas yards
Decatur, Amarillo and Midland. Your order ships from whichever yard sits closest to your site, which keeps the haul — and the freight on it — shorter.
7,000+ containers delivered
This is not a side line for us. Moving steel to Texas job sites, ranches, yards and facilities is the whole business.
Condition-graded inventory
Used, multi-trip and one-trip are graded and described honestly, so the units that show up match what you agreed to buy. Walk the yard and pick them yourself if you'd rather.
Coordinated multi-unit delivery
Loads are sequenced with your site contact so units land in the order your layout needs them, placed on the pad by tilt-bed truck.
One point of contact
The person who quotes your order is the person who books the trucks and answers the phone on delivery day. No ticket queue, no handoffs.
Custom fabrication in-house
If units need modification work — doors, windows, insulation, electrical, HVAC, paint, multi-container builds — that is done in-house by our own crew and scoped per project.
What we can supply
The container types facility buyers ask for most, in used and one-trip condition. Availability moves with the yard, so confirm the current mix on the call.
Used 20' Standard
The workhorse small unit. Used grade — the most economical way to put a lot of doors on a lot of pads.
1-Trip 20' Standard
Same footprint, near-new steel. Where the units front a road or a customer walks past them every day.
Used 40' Standard
Double the length per pad and per delivery load. The usual pick when the site plan favours long runs.
Used 40' High Cube
A foot more interior height than a 40 ft standard, for tenants storing tall items.
Multi-Trip 40' High Cube
2021–2022 model steel that has made a couple of trips. The middle grade between used and one-trip.
1-Trip 40' High Cube
The best-looking 40 ft on the lot. For facilities selling on appearance as much as on square footage.
Other sizes, double-door and open-side configurations are in the catalog too — browse the full container line-up or ask on the call. Retail prices shown elsewhere on this site are single-unit prices; a volume order is priced separately.
How we grade the steel
Honest grading matters more on a volume order than on a single container, because you are buying units you have not personally opened. Here is exactly what each grade means at our yards.
Tell us the unit count. We'll price the order.
Corten steel, graded honestly, delivered from the Texas yard nearest your site. One conversation covers the mix, the freight and the schedule.
How a multi-unit order goes
Four steps, and the first one is a phone call.
Call the nearest yard
Give us the site location, how many units you're after, the sizes and the condition you have in mind. Rough numbers are fine to start.
Walk the yard, pick the grade
You're welcome to come out and look at the steel yourself before you commit — most volume buyers do, and many end up mixing grades.
One quote for the whole order
Quantity, condition mix and delivery all land in a single quoted number for the order — not a retail price list with a discount stapled to it.
Coordinated delivery
We sequence the loads with your site contact and place each unit on the pad by tilt-bed truck. Level, firm ground and truck access are all we need.
How multi-unit pricing works
There is no published bulk price list, and no fixed volume discount. Every multi-unit order is quoted individually, because the right number depends on what you're actually buying and where it has to go.
That is not us being cagey — it is why calling is worth your time. Give the yard the shape of the order and you'll get a real number for it.
Rent-to-own is available through our partner, Rental Partners, if that structure suits the project better than buying outright — see how rent-to-own works or raise it on the call. Storage units qualify as standard; any container can go rent-to-own, including ones carrying basic modifications. If you have us wire a unit or plumb it, that particular unit becomes buy-outright — here's the eligibility rule in full.
Container size reference
Standard ISO exterior dimensions for the three sizes facility buyers plan around. Useful when you're laying out pads and drive aisles.
| Container size | Exterior dimensions (L × W × H) | Typical use in a facility |
|---|---|---|
| 20 ft standard | 20' L × 8' W × 8'6" H | Single-tenant drive-up units and smaller rental bays |
| 40 ft standard | 40' L × 8' W × 8'6" H | Large tenant units, vehicle and equipment storage |
| 40 ft high cube | 40' L × 8' W × 9'6" H | Taller units for palletized or stacked storage |
