Rent-to-Own Shipping Containers in Texas
Get the container you need now and pay for it over time. Cactus Containers offers rent-to-own on containers from all three of our Texas yards — Midland, Amarillo and Decatur — with the same steel and the same delivery as a cash purchase.
The application opens at Rental Partners in a new tab. Payment amount and term are confirmed with them during the application.
How rent-to-own works
Four steps from picking your container to owning it. Cactus Containers handles the container and the delivery; our rent-to-own partner, Rental Partners, handles the application and the agreement.
Choose your container
Pick the size and condition that fits your job — 20ft, 40ft, high cube, double-door or open-side. You're welcome to walk the yard in Midland, Amarillo or Decatur and pick your own unit. Almost everything we sell qualifies.
Apply online
The application is handled by Rental Partners, the rent-to-own provider we work with. It's quick and entirely online — start it from any button on this page.
Get approved & delivered
Once your application is approved and your agreement is in place, we schedule delivery from the yard nearest you. Our tilt-bed drivers set the container exactly where you want it.
Own it at the end
You use the container the entire time you're paying for it. Complete the term of your agreement and the container is yours to keep — no return, no hauling it back.
Rent-to-own is not a loan
Cactus Containers is not a lender. Rent-to-own is the only pay-over-time option we offer: a rental agreement that ends with the container belonging to you, arranged through Rental Partners. Your payment amount, term and any other conditions are set out in the agreement you review during the application — ask us or Rental Partners before you sign if anything isn't clear.
Get the container working for you sooner
Rent-to-own is how a lot of our ranch, jobsite and small-business customers get a container on the ground without writing one big check.
No large upfront cost
You don't have to cover the full purchase price to get started. That keeps your cash available for the work the container is there to support.
Use it while you pay for it
The container is delivered to your site and in service from day one. Store your gear, run your jobsite, lock up your tack — you're not waiting to take delivery.
Own it outright at the end
Unlike a straight monthly rental, rent-to-own ends with the container belonging to you. Nothing gets picked back up when the term is done.
Same containers, same steel
Rent-to-own units come out of the same condition-graded inventory we sell for cash — wind and watertight, inspected, and honestly graded.
Same delivery as a cash sale
Delivered on a tilt-bed truck from the yard nearest you and placed where you want it. Fast local delivery, priced by distance and quoted for your ZIP.
A Texas team on the phone
Rental Partners handles the paperwork; we handle the container. Call the yard nearest you and talk to someone who can walk out and look at the unit you're asking about.
Almost everything we sell can be rent-to-own
There's one rule, and it's an easy one to check. Any container can go rent-to-own — including units with basic modifications on them. A container with plumbing or electrical in it can't. That's the whole rule. Storage containers, one-trip units, open-sides, double-doors, custom lengths: all of it qualifies.
- Used and one-trip 20 ft and 40 ft containers, standard and high cube
- New 8, 9, 12, 13 and 14 ft containers
- Double-door and open-side units
- Texas flag, 53 ft and cut-to-length builds
- Modified builds with no plumbing and no electrical — extra doors, roll-ups, vents, insulation, paint, shelving and racking are all fine
- Office conversions — all four builds. Every office we build has electrical in it, so none of them can be rent-to-own. They're a buy-outright product: see the container offices.
- The basic tack room exactly as we spec it. That build includes a 12″ solar fan, which puts it on the wrong side of the rule. Build the same tack room without the fan and it qualifies — see the tack room builds.
- Any build we put plumbing or electrical into — wired lighting, outlets, HVAC, a sink or a restroom.
Not sure which side your build lands on? Tell us what you want on the container and we'll tell you straight before you apply — (940) 291-2797 in Decatur, (806) 557-3508 in Amarillo, (432) 423-2507 in Midland. If a modification would cost you rent-to-own, we'd rather say so up front and let you choose.
Which containers can I rent to own?

Open-side, double-door, Texas flag, 53 ft and cut-to-length units are available rent-to-own too — see the full container catalog or call the yard nearest you. Office conversions are a buy-outright product because of the electrical in them; here's what qualifies and what doesn't.
