What a container generator enclosure is
A container generator enclosure is a shipping container fabricated to house and protect a generator. Instead of leaving the unit sitting out in the open on a pad, the generator lives inside a corten steel container that our crew has modified for the job — weatherproof, ventilated and lockable.
The appeal is simple. A shipping container is already a sealed steel box designed to survive years of weather and rough handling, and it is already built to be picked up and set down by truck. Turning one into a generator building means the protection and the security come from the shell itself rather than from a structure that has to be built on site.
Cactus Containers builds these to order. There is no catalog version, no standard drawing and no list price — which is why this page asks you to call instead of showing a number.
Weatherproof
The enclosure is a sealed steel shell. Sun, rain, wind-blown dust and Texas weather stay on the outside of it.
Ventilated
A generator inside a steel box has to breathe. Ventilation is part of the fabrication and is worked out for the unit going in.
Lockable
Container doors and hardware lock. On a remote or unmanned site that is often the reason the enclosure gets built in the first place.
Custom fabrication
Cutting, framing, doors, access panels and finish are done by the Cactus Containers crew — not ordered in and bolted on.
Built to order
Every enclosure starts as a conversation about a specific generator on a specific site. Nothing is pulled off a shelf.
Delivered from a Texas yard
Finished enclosures go out on a tilt-bed truck from whichever of the three yards sits closest to your site.
This is a modification, not an accessory kit

Built around your generator, so it's quoted per build
The enclosure is fabricated to suit the unit that goes inside it. Change the generator or change the site and you change the build — which is why a single published price would be a fiction.
Tell us the generator and tell us the site, and we'll quote it. You do not need drawings or a spec sheet to start the conversation — the make and model of the unit, roughly how big it is, and where it has to live are enough for us to work from on a first call.
From there our crew scopes the shell size, the ventilation, the doors and access, and the security and finish, and comes back to you with a price for the whole build. Quoted prices are plus tax if applicable.

Anywhere a generator has to sit outdoors, unattended, and keep working. If your situation isn't on this list, it is still worth a call.

Every enclosure starts as a standard ISO shipping container. These are the exterior dimensions of the shells we build on — useful when you are working out whether your unit will fit and where the enclosure can sit.
